NMOS linear image sensors are self-scanning photodiode arrays with large active area, high UV sensitivity and high dynamic range. These devices are used to measure moderate to high light levels and have excellent resistance to deterioration caused by exposure to ultraviolet light. For easy and simple handling, the scanning circuit is configured from an N-channel MOS transistor and can be driven with very low power consumption. The large saturation charge makes it suitable for multichannel absorption instruments. Fiber optic plate (FOP) input window, scintillator coated FOP and thermoelectric cooler are available as options. Multichannel detector heads and support electronics make these arrays easy to use. NMOS arrays are used in spectrometers, HPLC detectors and X-ray imagers.
