InGaAs PIN Photodiodes, Hamamatsu

InGaAs PIN photodiodes are near infrared (NIR) detectors that, due to a small terminal capacitance, feature low noise, low dark current and high-speed response. When cooled with a thermoelectric cooler, InGaAs PIN photodiodes exhibit very low dark current and deliver higher D* (Detectivity). InGaAs detectors are used for NIR spectroscopy, optical communication and can be categorized into four types:

Standard type InGaAs PIN photodiodes with a spectral response range of 0.9 µm – 1.7 µm, deliver high-speed response and low noise due to a low terminal capacitance and a large shunt resistance.
Long wavelength InGaAs PIN photodiodes with a spectral response to 2.6 µm.
Image sensors and arrays used for spectrophotometry and DWDM channel monitoring. These arrays have spectral response range of 0.9 µm to 1.67 µm and 0.9 µm to 2.55 µm. They can incorporate a one or two-stage thermoelectric cooler.
Infrared detector modules consist of an InGaAs PIN photodiode, assembled with a matched preamplifier and can be operated by simply connecting a low-voltage DC power supply.
